Therapeutic effects

In Cieplice
there are thermal, low-mineralized, fluoride/silicon springs. All types of water treatment (exercising in a pool, mineral baths, pearl baths, hydromassage, showers, whirlpool baths, underwater massage, inhalations, etc.) exclusively use the thermal healing water, which makes the treatment more effective. Such a wide range of uses of thermal waters in Cieplice is exceptional among other Polish health resorts. The Cieplice hot waters warm up the skin and deeper blood vessels. The vessels widen and the internal organs are congested.
Natural underground water
is a non-ideal solution of diluted mineral and organic substances and gases. It may contain colloid salts of organic and mineral compounds, such as silicon dioxide, silicates and bicarbonates of some metals. The therapeutic properties of water are usually connected with the presence and concentration of salts dissociated into ions that form non-ideal solutions. They are better absorbed, they penetrated through the skin and mucous membranes more easily, both during drinking and bathing treatment. During a bath, the therapeutic agents are those components that are water- and fat-soluble.
Therapeutic effects
largely depend on the extent, in which the skin absorbs the components present in water. Research shows that iodine, carbon dioxide, radon, hydrogen sulphide are very well absorbed through the skin, while sodium, potassium and sulphate ions are absorbed not so well. The components absorbed through the skin are partially deposited in the stratum corneum and then gradually diffused into blood. Ions deposited in the skin also influence the release of tissue hormones, such as acetylcholine, bradykinin, histamine and serotonin. The blood-absorbed components trigger adaptative and specific general reactions, depending on the kind of absorbed mineral water component.
The hot springs of Cieplice
are diuretic, they prevent uric acid crystallization and prevent the formation of urinary calculus in the urinary system. It has been proven that drinking Cieplice water increases the concentration of total fluoride in the serum and the bone tissue. In paradontium disorders, the sanatorium in Cieplice performs mouth hydrotherapy involving gum massage with low-pressure fluoride/silicon water.
The hot springs
have got the highest concentration of silicon dioxide in Poland (up to 100 mg/l). The biological role of silicon is based on its participation in the process of bone mineralization, hardening of the connective tissue and building of the skin and hair structure.
